  • Text “NISD” plus your message to CRIMES (274637). Tipsters  will always remain anonymous.  274637 is the number you text to.  NISD must be the first word in the body of the Tipster’s  text message.  Tipsters should be as descriptive as possible when sending information.  Tipsters should state the “who” did “what”.  “When” did it happen.  “How” does the tipster know?  As well as what campus “location” violation or crime is occurring as our program provides service to every campus within the Northwest ISD boundary.
  • Your information will be taken in strictest confidence.  Anonymity is protected and you never have to nor should you give your name….ever!
  • The Text Tipping System used is very sophisticated and designed to keep tipsters anonymous .  When a text tip is sent , the system will automatically respond to the tipster with a secret code. The tipster should not share this information with anyone.  REMEMBER tipster want to remain anonymous.
  • There will be an investigation conducted if there is enough information given in the tip.  Crime Stoppers will respond back with the status of the tip via the same text message thread.  The message will advise if the tipster is due payment.
  • Tips that lead to the discipline of a student(s) or the arrest of a suspect(s), as well as the recovery of stolen property and drugs are eligible for cash rewards.  REMEMBER:  money is paid to tipsters on an anonymous basis.
  • Crime Stoppers will then explain how to pick up the money.
